Somewhere in the busy streets of Lahore, you can find a place open to every needy child. A home no less than a mesmerizing garden for the children. A place for love, a place for protection, and a place for the warmth of hearts. Children are the innocent souls in our society. They do not deserve the harsh reality of this world. Every child is important and they should get all the love and compassion they deserve. That is why this orphanage was created and is being run by Naqash Javed.
Many kids around us need help because they are suffering. Either their parents have passed away or they are pushed into slavery. This word slavery might seem to be grinding, but you can find many children being oppressed under the name of child labor. So this orphanage is always in search of such kids. Instead of children asking for help, their team goes out and seeks needy children. Counseling is the first step taken as it is a great victory to earn a child’s trust. Every further step is taken with responsibility. Whenever an indigent child is found, his history is looked for and every detail is recorded. You will find their team to be highly responsible and adamant. All the concerned people and the relatives of the child are contacted. If the child himself agrees, everyone's consent is taken. If no guardian is available then the kid is reported to the police. After several procedures related to the police department and local council, the child is admitted into his secured future.
This orphanage needs concerned people like you to run and to weave a beautiful future for every orphan. There are certain things required by this orphanage to work. Some of them include food, clothes, education bills, medical bills, and a caretaker. Everything costs almost ten to twelve thousand rupees per month. Virtuous people donate to these orphan centers. Other than this, kids need compassion and humbleness. They need to play and learn with you. They want to know about the world outside the center. There are people who donate their money and there are people who invest their lives for these orphans. Both are righteous and selfless. Let’s talk about the third type of people. Those whose hearts are enormous enough to adopt these children. Those who want to paint the life of these children colorful and give them the love of parents. Such people just need to show interest in adopting a child. The rest are just policies and procedures.
Couples often visit this center and try to make a bond with kids. Such visits insure the chemistry and bond to set between them and the children. The people bring gifts and spread joy by playing with them. In the end, they choose a kid to adopt and pamper. Again all this depends on the will of the child. Nothing is done against his will. If the child is reluctant enough, he is counseled and once in a while is allowed to go out with that couple. They can take him to their home and show him a glimpse of the beautiful life he would receive. Children usually agree after counseling. As the center aims to teach the kids morally and ethically, they never misbehave with people.
It does not cost money to adopt, rather a promise is taken to fulfill every need of that kid. A bond is signed declaring that the kid will live his life to the full and he would cherish every breath he takes. People are always ready to sign such bonds as they want to save a flower. They want to bring home perpetual happiness and to complete their own family. Such acts prove to be a win- win situation for everyone. People are also encouraged to bring the child back often and let him meet with his brothers and sisters here.
You can often see foreigners visiting the center. They are quite altruistic and lovely people. Many people from the US and Arab countries visit. They often bring love with them and donate to us when leaving. But you can never find any foreigner adopting a kid because the rules do not allow it. These kids cannot be sent to other countries as there is always a check on people adopting our kids. This center not only enquires about people during the adoption process but also keeps a check on the people adopting our kids. This center is committed to providing a secure future to every kid at every step of life.
You can see many happy faces of people leaving our center. These people come here to find a little soul they could love and fondle. The infertile couple can find their solution here. This center which was opened many years back with a mission to protect every orphan and needy child has now become an institution. Whenever a kid is adopted, it feels like a family member leaving. This sorrow turns into jubilation whenever that kid visits and tells how happy he is. It feels like this center is completing its mission. This center is not a mere protected shelter for orphans rather it is a light of hope for all those children who need love and a better future. Hundreds of children have been adopted uptill now, and not even a single mishap has occurred. All this is due to the noble cause being served by this center. Everyone here is responsible and cares for the kids as their own progeny.
This center needs people like you to serve the mission. Noble and generous people like you can provide a better future for these kids. This orphan center has always been taking care of kids and will continue this noble cause. The center is home to many kids who belong to this institution. They are willing to host people with soft hearts who can visit and play with their kids.
An Orphan’s Story
He is a successful and a married man now. He has lived almost fifteen years with his new parents. Habib works in a factory and earns bread for his family. His Aunt was immensely glad when Habib began his new life with his spouse. Now, he is a mature and responsible person. When he was narrating his own story he was proud and happy rather than getting emotional. He said that he got so much love and compassion that he never missed his biological parents. We might be assuming every orphan child to remember his biological parents, but this is not the case with Habib. He was very young and innocent when he lost them.
His biological mother passed away due to illness when Habib was only five years old. His father was a drug addict and an irresponsible person. He never cared for his kids and used to spend nights out. Habib was the youngest of his siblings. His mother’s demise was such misery and shock that his elder brothers were reluctant to take care of him. Then his aunt decided to send him to an orphan center for good. Habib remembers that he cried a lot and was not ready to adjust to new and unknown people. As the days passed away he realized that such orphan centers are the best solution for kids like him. He was getting into his story while narrating to us.
He got a whole new life to live and a whole new family to love for. One day, his Aunt came to the center and adopted him as her own son. This was the second time he was leaving his family. He said that uptill then he was strong enough to bear any hardship. His Aunt was generous and compassionate enough that she could not keep him away. At last, Habib got new parents. His Aunt promised him that she will work hard to fulfill all his needs. She gave him such a love that has no example. Together they enjoyed every Eid Festival and together they suffered every difficulty.
His Aunt usually took him back to that orphan center as he was really attached to them. This helped him to learn that love is the only beautiful thing in this world. If it was not for love, nothing would have existed. He tried to find his father, but he was lost somewhere. It is said that he was ashamed of not taking care of his children when they needed him the most. And then one day, Habib’s addicted father passed away. He went to his funeral and performed all the obligatory rituals with his brothers. He was emotionally strong enough to descend his father in a grave. He said that where ever you live, you are attached to your real parents. Habib was only five when he left his parents, but it is the innate connection that makes him pray for his real parents. A connection that can never be broken, a bond stronger than anything in this world.
He was quite happy at his eldest brother’s wedding. He prepared all his suits and did everything to make this event memorable. Habib said they were enjoying the dance and rituals when he suddenly began to cry. Upon asking he revealed that he was missing his mother. He remembers the days spent with her and that how she used to feed them irrespective of poverty and destitution. He remembers the days spent together with his parents and siblings like a complete family. Now, when he knows the importance of parents, he occasionally gets emotional. He often visits his mother’s grave and sheds tears. He said that he frequently prays that no child suffers as he did.
As Habib turned eighteen, he decided to work as he was never able to get an education. His mind was so confused and so jumbled up that he was unable to pursue any higher education. After becoming an adult he decided to take care of his Aunt and Uncle as they did when he was an orphan. Habib started to work in a factory as a helper. He was now learning new skills. He was proud of his Aunt and that orphan center that gave him a new meaning of life. His monthly pay was a mere six thousand rupees, but this was enough to prove his success. When we met him, he was not wearing some ostentatious clothes or some branded shoes, but there was a smile playing on his face. His words told that he was satisfied with his life. We think this is the mission of that orphan and this is the purpose they are serving for.
Habib spent five years with his real parents, the next five years in the orphan cente,r and has decided to live the rest of his life with his Aunt and Uncle. Now, when we are interviewing him, he has turned twenty-five. He is a successful supervisor in his factory and earns enough to support his family. He is married to a good-looking spouse. He has decided to have some cute children and love them as much as he could. He told that he would continue to visit the orphan center and has decided to support them to his fullest. He foresees his future as his Aunt becoming a grandmother and going on a vacation together.
Upon leaving we took a picture of him. His picture reveals how gleeful he was. When he stopped talking, we felt that a storm has come to rest. He seemed to be satisfied and calm. His face was caring a great smile. The smile revealed that his family is completed. Now, he understands the importance of a complete family. And he wishes that no child has to leave his parents.
